Drone alert in Denmark. Aalborg Airport closed for hours after incident

Drones have once again brought air traffic in Denmark to a standstill – Aalborg Airport had to be temporarily closed after several unknown drones were spotted flying overhead for more than three hours. This is the second incident in just a few days, as flights in Copenhagen were also disrupted by drones on Tuesday.

Police in North Jutland confirmed that all takeoffs and landings had to be suspended until Thursday morning due to the drone activity. Authorities fear a coordinated series of incidents that could be linked to Russian activities, even though Moscow denies any involvement. A similar incident also occurred in Norway, where the airspace above Oslo Airport had to be closed for three hours.

The drones in Aalborg could not be neutralized by the police, and the perpetrators remain unknown. Unidentified aircraft were also sighted near the airports of Esbjerg, Sønderborg, and Skrydstrup. Skrydstrup is an important base for Danish F-16 and F-35 fighter jets.

The police are conducting the investigation in cooperation with the military, intelligence services, and international partners. According to the authorities, there is no immediate danger to passengers or residents.
