Rutte: NATO and Denmark take drone incidents very seriously

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that both the Alliance and Denmark take the drone incidents that led to the closure of Copenhagen Airport very seriously.

After talks with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, he emphasized that NATO and its allies are working together to secure critical infrastructure and improve protection against similar threats. He added that all alliance countries must respond decisively but appropriately to airspace violations.
Other countries, such as Romania, have repeatedly faced the crash of Russian drone parts on their territory in recent months.

Romanian Defense Minister Ionut Mosteanu said after a meeting of the Romanian Security Council that European countries must prepare for regular provocations, such as deliberate drone flights, and establish clear systemic measures in the event of an airspace violation.

The Russian Embassy in Copenhagen denied any involvement in the Danish drone incident and described the allegations as “absurd.” At the same time, it attributed the spread of the narrative of Russian involvement to the deliberate stirring up of tensions.
