Ukraine strikes Russian Black Sea ports, crippling oil exports

On Wednesday, Ukrainian sea drones attacked the Russian ports of Novorossiysk and Tuapse, temporarily disrupting the operations of Transneft's oil infrastructure and the Caspian oil terminal. These attacks affected the export capacity of around two million barrels of oil per day.

They caused mainly property damage in Novorossiysk and, so far, two civilian deaths, several injuries, and panic in the Sochi region, where authorities ordered the evacuation of beaches.

In addition to the attacks on the Black Sea ports, Russian authorities also reported a Ukrainian drone attack on the Kursk-2 nuclear power plant under construction in Kurochatov. A drone struck part of the site where construction work is being carried out. According to Russian authorities, there were no casualties. The power plant is operating normally, and Kiev has not commented on the attacks.
