The arms industry in the EU cannot use the billions from EU funds, claims Romanian minister

At a security conference in Warsaw, Romanian Defense Minister Ionut Mosteanu expressed concern that the European defense industry may not be able to effectively utilize the billions of euros from the new EU SAFE program, which aims to strengthen defense capabilities.

Mosteanu stressed that policymakers should speed up approval processes so that industry can respond more quickly to orders and investments. In his opinion, simplifying administrative hurdles is essential to ensure effective absorption of funds.

Otherwise, he believes these funds could lead to an increase in procurement prices.
