The US Supreme Court is considering lifting the ban on therapy for homosexuals

The US Supreme Court is hearing the case of therapist Kaley Chiles, who challenged Colorado's ban on so-called conversion therapy for underage homosexuals.

During the hearing, several conservative judges agreed with her argument that the law violates the freedom of speech guaranteed by the First Amendment to the Constitution. Chiles claims that the law prohibits her from discussing “views on sexuality and gender identity that are undesirable to the state” with her clients.

Colorado counters that it is a regulation of medical practice designed to protect children from methods that are not yet scientifically proven.

The court may refer the case back to a lower court for reconsideration, with a final ruling expected by summer 2025.
