Salushny denies that he is preparing to run in the elections

Valery Salushny, former commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian armed forces and current ambassador to the United Kingdom, denies that he is preparing in any way to participate in the elections.

His media advisor, Oksana Toropova, stated in a comment for the Ukrainian newspaper NV that the war is ongoing and Salushnyy is not planning any political moves during this time, reports the platform Ukrajinska Prawda.

Toropova was responding to reports by the French portal Intelligence Online that Salushnyj's representatives had allegedly approached several high-ranking military officials to recruit them for his parliamentary list in case he decided to run for president.

According to Toropova, this information came from anonymous, unverified sources and could be part of political games at a difficult time for the country.

Salushnyj himself emphasized on social media that he did not recognize any proposals for elections during the ongoing war, was not founding any political parties, and had no connections to political forces. He added that he would continue to serve the state as long as circumstances permitted.
