The Trump administration has begun laying off employees due to paralysis

President Donald Trump's administration began laying off federal employees on Friday as the government shutdown reached its tenth day. Russell Vought, director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, announced on social media that “job cuts” had begun.

He also confirmed that the layoffs would be “significant” and would focus primarily on agencies whose employees are close to the Democratic Party. Trump has repeatedly criticized these institutions and stated that he wants to cut off funding to Democratic-governed states.

However, unions have challenged this practice in court, and a federal judge will hear the case on October 16.

This situation represents a change from previous closures, where employees were only temporarily suspended and later called back to work.
