Bolton will have to answer in court—he faces up to ten years in prison for each charge

John Bolton, former National Security Advisor to US President Donald Trump, is facing federal charges for allegedly misusing classified information. According to the indictment, he shared this information with his wife and daughter to use in a planned book.

Bolton rejects all allegations and describes them as a politically motivated attack by President Trump, who he believes is abusing his power and putting pressure on the Department of Justice.

This is already the third criminal case against Trump's critics in a short period of time.

Bolton faces 18 charges, each of which could result in up to ten years in prison. Although the investigation began before the Trump administration took office, media reports say the White House has been actively pushing to speed up the proceedings.

Trump commented briefly on the case, saying, “He's a bad guy.” The conflict between the two men escalated after the publication of Bolton's memoirs, in which he described Trump as an incompetent president.
