US President Donald Trump said on Monday that he did not expect Ukraine to win the war against Russia, but acknowledged that this possibility still existed.

During a press conference at the White House, he noted that war is unpredictable and anything could happen in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. At the same time, he stated that he had personally called on Russia to stop attacking civilians in Ukraine. Despite his skepticism about Ukraine's chances, Trump emphasized that its victory was not entirely out of the question.

On the same day, President Trump announced that he expected a fair trade agreement with Chinese President Xi Jinping. He also announced a plan to accelerate the delivery of nuclear submarines to Australia, declaring his intention to ease tensions with China while strengthening defense cooperation with allies in the Indo-Pacific region.

Ahead of talks with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in Washington, Trump said that the United States has a strong military and that he expects both sides to be satisfied with the trade agreement. The president declined to comment on reports of pressure from Beijing regarding U.S. support for Taiwan's independence.
