The number of defendants charged with the theft of jewels from the Louvre has risen to four

The investigation into the shocking jewelry theft at the Louvre, worth over $100 million, is still ongoing—most recently, the police have charged two more people.

According to the Paris public prosecutor's office, the suspects are a 37-year-old man with a criminal record for theft and a 38-year-old woman from the poor neighborhood of La Courneuve. Both are accused of participating in an organized theft and criminal conspiracy.

They are currently in custody and deny their guilt.

This brings the number of suspects in this case to four – a week ago, two men from Aubervilliers were arrested, one of whom was detained at the airport while attempting to leave the country. According to the public prosecutor's office, both have confessed to at least partial involvement.
