British police arrest two men after attack on train
British police announced that they are investigating the knife attack on a train in eastern England as attempted murder and not as a terrorist act. Following the tragic incident, which occurred on Saturday, they arrested two British citizens.
Police Chief John Loveless said that of the nine people with life-threatening injuries, four had already been discharged from hospital and two remained in critical condition.
He also stated that there is currently no evidence to suggest that this attack was terrorism-related. He concluded his statement by saying, “At this stage of the investigation, it is not appropriate to speculate on the causes of the attack.” He then announced that the police would release further information as soon as possible.
The incident occurred on a train bound for London, which then made an emergency stop in Huntingdon. Armed officers were on the scene to investigate the circumstances and motives behind the attack.
