Ukrainian army infiltrated the centre of Pokrovsk and occupied the town hall

The Ukrainian unit of the 425th Assault Regiment "Skela" successfully occupied the city council building in the city of Pokrovsk, which is located in the so-called grey zone. According to the Unian news agency, it was a carefully planned operation to gain symbolic control over a strategic point.

Despite the damage to the transporter and the ambush of the assault groups, the soldiers managed to break through to the town hall. The Ukrainian flag once again flies over the building.

However, according to observers, around 80 percent of Pokrovsk remains under Russian control or in an unclear military situation.

Although there are reports of Ukrainian counter-offensives, the situation in the city remains tense. Officer Sergei Beskrestnov sees the action as an effort to maintain a presence in the city for as long as possible.
