Security forces uncover Hamas weapons cache in Vienna

Austrian security forces uncover an arms depot in Vienna that intelligence agencies believe has links to the Palestinian militant group Hamas. According to Vol.At, five pistols and ten magazines were found in a suitcase in the rented warehouse.

According to investigators, the weapons may have been intended for attacks against Israeli or Jewish targets in Europe.

As part of the same international investigation, a 39-year-old British man was arrested in London and is scheduled to be extradited to Germany. Already in October, three other suspected Hamas supporters were arrested there.

Interior Minister Gerhard Karner stated that Austria had zero tolerance for terrorism, while praising international cooperation and the professionalism of the intelligence services.

Vienna FPÖ leader Dominik Nepp criticised the "multicultural illusions" of the ruling parties and accused them of creating an environment where terrorism can flourish unhindered. He described the arms depot as proof that Vienna poses a serious security risk to the whole of Europe.
