Israel has hit targets in southern Lebanon. It claims to have attacked Hezbollah

The Israeli army struck multiple targets in southern Lebanon on Thursday. It says Hezbollah is trying to reestablish its military positions in the area. The attacks followed the issuance of evacuation orders for three villages.

Although a ceasefire has been in force between Israel and Hezbollah since last year, Tel Aviv has accused the Lebanese movement of violating it and has said it will not allow it to rearm. Hezbollah, on the other hand, says it is abiding by the ceasefire but retains the right to defend itself.

While the Lebanese government was addressing the situation in a cabinet meeting, Israeli warplanes struck targets in the area. There are no confirmed casualties from the latest airstrikes, but earlier attacks claimed one victim.

Tensions are again rising between the two sides, despite the Lebanese army's progress in confiscating Hezbollah weapons.
