Young Russian woman jailed for third time for singing anti-Kremlin songs

Eighteen-year-old Russian musician Diana Loginova, performing as Naoko, faces another sentence. This time, the court ordered her to serve thirteen days in prison for singing anti-Kremlin songs in the street.

This is the third consecutive sentence for disturbing public order, which human rights activists call "carousel arrests" that serve to artificially prolong detention.

Loginova, a member of the street band Stoptime, caught the attention of authorities with viral videos from St. Petersburg, where she performed songs critical of the Russian government. Among them were the banned song "Swan Lake Cooperative" by Noize MC and "You Are a Soldier" by Monetochka. Both performers are in exile and have been branded "foreign agents" by the state.

Her fiancé and the band's guitarist Alexander Orlov received the same sentence. Amnesty International has described the authorities' approach as systematic censorship and repression of critical voices.

Diana's mother says her daughter has done nothing wrong and it is incomprehensible why the state is reacting so harshly. Loginova also faces other accusations of discrediting the army, which may result in further sanctions.
