Trump wants to end shutdown, plans to sign bill
US President Donald Trump plans to sign a bill Wednesday evening US time that will end the government shutdown, White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt announced.
According to her, this is the so-called clean funding extension (continuing resolution), which has been supported by Republicans from the beginning and which should restore the operation of federal offices.
She informed that the head of state sees the end of the shutdown as a necessary step and blames the Democrats for triggering it.
The White House expects to sign the bill into law the same evening after the House of Representatives passes the bill. The move is intended to end the stalemate that has disrupted the running of state institutions.
