Russia was the third largest gas exporter to the EU in the first three quarters
Russia ranked third in value terms for gas imports to the European Union between January and September 2025. The United States and Algeria have taken the lead.
Russia's share stood at 16.1 percent with total purchases of 10.6 billion euros, up 1.6 percent from the same period in 2024, Russia's Tass news agency reported.
The United States dominated LNG supplies with a 29.5 percent share and a value of 19.4 billion euros. Algeria took the second position with a share of 16.13 percent and a volume of 10.6 billion euros.
Norway ranked fourth with a 12.3 percent share and a value of 8.1 billion euros, while the United Kingdom ranked fifth with seven percent and 4.5 billion euros.
In September 2025, European purchases of Russian gas reached the lowest value of 830 million euros since August 2023.
