Trump wants to resume nuclear tests. He refuses to specify what weapons he will test

Donald Trump has announced that the US will resume nuclear weapons testing, as will other states. He declined to specify whether these would be actual detonations. The statement was made during a flight to Florida, where Trump told reporters he did not want to talk about details.

However, a month ago, he announced on the Truth Social network that he had ordered the immediate resumption of nuclear tests after 33 years. He made the decision while flying by Marine One helicopter to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Busan, South Korea, where they were to discuss trade negotiations.

His move came shortly after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the testing of Russia's Burevestnik and Poseidon nuclear systems.

Moscow claims that these were not nuclear tests in the true sense of the word, the Russian president ordered an analysis of the situation and preparations for possible tests of his own.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has announced his willingness to negotiate, but has also warned that Russia is prepared to act in a reciprocal manner.
