Tesla wants to build without Chinese parts, asks suppliers to change

Elon Musk's Tesla is requiring its suppliers not to use Chinese-made components when making cars in the U.S., according to the Wall Street Journal.

The company has reportedly already replaced some Chinese parts with products from other countries and plans to complete the process within the next two years.

Tesla is looking to switch to components made outside of China within one to two years, sources familiar with the situation said.

While the report cites sources familiar with the situation, Reuters has not yet been able to independently verify it.
