Trump's special envoy for Ukraine wants to quit

US President Donald Trump's special envoy for Ukraine, retired General Keith Kellogg, plans to leave his post in January. His departure would mean the loss of one of the few strong advocates for Ukraine in the Trump administration.

Kellogg has sharply criticized Russia's attacks on civilian infrastructure and has often clashed with colleague Steve Witkoff, who leans toward the Russian narrative.

His departure comes at a time when the White House is facing challenges over its stance on Ukraine. It is unclear who will replace Kellogg - the US does not yet have a Senate-confirmed ambassador in Kiev.
