Trump sends Witkoff to Putin, aims for peace in Ukraine

US President Donald Trump has announced that he has tasked his special envoy, Steve Witkoff, to negotiate with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.

The aim of the meeting is to agree on a peace plan to end the war in Ukraine. According to Trump, only a few sticking points remain to be resolved. He posted the information on the Truth Social platform.

He also added that a parallel meeting with the Ukrainian side will be held, where US Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll is expected to attend.
