NATO pledges $1 billion in military aid to Ukraine
Ukraine received pledges of military aid worth one billion dollars at the NATO foreign ministers' meeting.
This was announced by the head of Ukrainian diplomacy Andriy Sybiha, who took part in the NATO-Ukraine Council meeting, Ukrainska Pravda reports.
The aid will be channeled through the PURL program, which coordinates the purchase and delivery of weapons. Sybiha described the meeting as the most productive so far in terms of concrete commitments and decisions by member states.
He said the discussions were substantive and emphasised the need for immediate action to stabilise the front and strengthen Ukraine's position in possible negotiations with Russia.
