Who would win the presidential election in Ukraine, according to the poll?
The Info Sapiens agency conducted a poll for the Euronews portal to find out who would currently succeed in the presidential elections in Ukraine. The results show that the current president, Volodymyr Zelensky, would win 20.3 percent of the vote in a possible presidential election. Despite a drop from the 73 percent he received in 2019, he remains the most popular candidate.
In second place is former armed forces commander Valery Zaluzhny with around 19 percent.
Zaluzhnyi, who is currently Ukraine's ambassador to the UK, led the Ukrainian military from 2021 to February 2024. However, he ruled out political ambitions in October 2025, according to the Euronews website, while also refusing to allow any elections to be held in Ukraine during the war.
Among public figures, the poll also recorded support above five percent for military intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov.
The poll results also reflect the fact that the majority of Ukrainians do not want elections during the war. Only 12 percent of respondents support voting during the conflict, 22 percent after a ceasefire with guarantees, and 63 percent are waiting for the conflict to end.
However, Zelensky confirmed in September that he does not plan to run for president again after the end of the war.
