Russian President Vladimir Putin's foreign policy adviser Yuri Ushakov said that the Europeans' and Ukrainians' modifications of the US proposals for a peace deal on Ukraine have not increased the chances of peace. He made the remarks to the Interfax news agency on Sunday.

"This is not a prediction. I am sure that the proposals that the Europeans and Ukrainians have put forward or are trying to put forward certainly do not improve the document and do not improve the possibility of achieving a long-term peace," he specified.

On Saturday, U.S. negotiators met with Russian officials in Florida. The Russian delegation was led by Kirill Dmitriev, President Putin's special envoy, who described the talks as constructive after meeting with U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff and the U.S. president's son-in-law, Jared Kushner. He said the talks would continue on Sunday.
