Russian attack on Odessa causes power outages and fire in port
The Russian night attack on the Odessa region severely damaged the port and energy infrastructure, causing a fire in the port of Pivdennyi and power outages for over 120 thousand people.
In particular, ports and logistics hubs, which are vital to the Ukrainian economy, were targeted, according to Ukrainian officials. Some 30 containers of food and oil were on fire, and firefighters managed to locate the blaze. One person sustained injuries.
Kiev claims that Russia is trying to disrupt Ukraine's access to the Black Sea and is also encroaching on important routes towards Moldova. At the same time, it notes that Ukraine is also taking action against Russia's shadow fleet, particularly oil tankers, which are circumventing Western sanctions.
Russia has not yet commented on the incident.
