Paris court convicts ten people for cyber attacks on Brigitte Macron

Ten people in France have been convicted of cyberbullying Brigitte Macron. They spread false claims that she was transgender and disparaged her relationship with Emmanuel Macron. The attackers were given suspended sentences of up to eight months.

The couple defended the attacks with silence for years, but eventually decided to go the legal route. The convicts likened their age difference to "paedophilia" and purposefully questioned the First Lady's identity.

In response, Brigitte Macron expressed her belief that her case can help other victims of bullying. According to her, the attacks also invaded her privacy, with cyber attackers allegedly accessing her tax details and changing her identity.

The Macrons are also pursuing another lawsuit against American podcaster Candace Owens.
