Venezuelan government orders arrests of "collaborators"
The Venezuelan government is reacting to the dramatic turn of events in the country following the intervention of the United States, which led to the arrest of President Nicolás Maduro.
As part of the state of emergency in force since Saturday, it has ordered the police to immediately launch a nationwide manhunt for those involved in any way in supporting the US armed intervention.
Concerns about what was happening were voiced on Monday by UN Secretary-General António Guterres, who warned of the potential destabilisation of the region and questioned the legality of the US intervention.
In his statement, he called for the need to find a peaceful solution and stressed the willingness of the UN to help Venezuela in this crisis situation.
