14 journalists detained in Venezuela

More than a dozen media workers were detained on Monday while covering events in the Venezuelan capital Caracas, the South American Press Association said.

All 14 detainees were later released, according to the press association (SNTP), although one of them was a foreign journalist who had been deported.

The SNTP explained that among those detained were 11 people working for international media and one for national media.

Reuters has not been able to independently confirm all the detentions.
