Trump: the US is not at war with Venezuela
US President Donald Trump said in an interview with NBC News on Monday that the United States is not at war with Venezuela. "No, we aren't. We're at war with people who sell drugs. We're at war with people who are emptying their prisons into our country, emptying their drug addicts into our country, emptying their mental hospitals into our country," he said.
He added that the country will not hold new elections in the next 30 days following the capture of local President Nicolás Maduro.
"First we have to put that country in order. We cannot have elections there. People cannot vote. No, it will take time. We have to nurse the country back to health," the US president said when asked about the possibility of holding elections within the next month.
