Trump claims his wife hates his dancing
US President Donald Trump elicits enthusiasm from his supporters when he dances on stage during his political rallies, but on Tuesday he revealed that First Lady Melania Trump is not a fan of the dancing Donald.
"My wife hates it when I do that," Trump said during his zigzagging speech to Republican lawmakers in Washington. "She's a very elegant person, isn't she? She said, 'It's so unpresidential.' I said, 'But I became president.'"
The first lady was not present at the event.
Trump often performs his signature dance steps at the end of his speeches, when the song "YMCA" blares from the speakers, and extends his arms in jerky motions while the rest of his body remains rigid.
"I said everybody wants me to dance," Trump told lawmakers, describing a conversation with his wife. "'Honey, that's not presidential.' She actually said, 'Can you imagine FDR dancing?' That's what she told me."
"I said there's a long history that she may not know because he was an elegant man, even though he was a Democrat," Trump stated.
