Zelensky adviser praises progress at Paris talks

Kyrylo Budanov, a top adviser to President Volodymyr Zelensky, on Wednesday welcomed the "concrete results" of the Paris talks on security guarantees and peace proposals for Ukraine. Although all the information is not yet public, he said the negotiations have made progress and Kiev's national interests will be rigorously protected.

President Volodymyr Zelensky noted on Tuesday evening that the issue of territory remains the biggest obstacle in the peace process, with U.S. officials reportedly putting forward a proposal to create a free economic zone in parts of the Donbas.

U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff confirmed that territorial options have been discussed and negotiations will continue. Zelensky expects topics such as the Zaporizhzhya power plant and territorial solutions to be part of further discussions with U.S. negotiators in Paris.

He also reported that they are also discussing possible formats for high-level meetings that could include leaders of the US and European allies.
