Vance calls on Europe to take Trump's efforts regarding Greenland seriously

US Vice President JD Vance warned Europe to take President Donald Trump seriously, especially when it comes to Greenland. He accused Denmark and the rest of Europe of failing to protect the strategic island from the influence of Russia and China.

According to DW television, Trump has reignited efforts to acquire Greenland—this time without ruling out a military solution.

In an interview with the New York Times, he said that "ownership" of Greenland is more valuable than the 1951 agreement allowing the US to have military bases on the island.

Danish and Greenlandic envoys are already in talks with US officials about the possible consequences of Trump's plans.

The United Kingdom and its European allies have jointly declared that they are prepared to defend Greenland against any intervention.
