Half a million people in Kyiv are without electricity after Russian attack
In Kyiv, intensive work is underway to restore electricity to more than 500,000 residents who have been cut off as a result of massive Russian attacks on energy infrastructure.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenkova described the attacks as a form of "energy terrorism" and an attempt by Moscow to use winter conditions as a weapon. According to her, Russian missiles and drones targeted facilities essential for heating homes at a time when temperatures in Kyiv had dropped to minus ten degrees Celsius.
At the same time, President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that the targets also included the Qatari embassy, which was hit by a drone during the night attacks.
According to him, Qatar is an active mediator in negotiations with Russia on the exchange of prisoners.
