Machadová wants to give Trump the Nobel Prize, but the institute has ruled it out

The Norwegian Nobel Institute responded to statements by Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado, who suggested that she might "give" her 2025 Nobel Peace Prize to US President Donald Trump. In its statement, the institute emphasized that the Nobel Prize cannot be "taken away, divided, or transferred to others."

According to the statutes of the Nobel Foundation, the decision to award the prize is final and permanent and cannot be appealed. The Nobel Committee also noted that, as a rule, it does not comment on the subsequent actions or statements of laureates after they have been announced.

In an interview with Fox News, Machado said that awarding the prize to Trump would be a sign of gratitude from Venezuelans for removing Nicolás Maduro, who was detained by the United States last week.

Trump said he would be honored if Machado symbolically offered him the prize during a planned meeting in Washington.
