Sweden criticizes Trump's rhetoric on Greenland and Denmark

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson criticized the rhetoric of US President Donald Trump's administration towards Greenland and Denmark.

In a speech at a security conference in Salen, he said that this was a "threatening tone" which, in his opinion, not only undermines the rules-based world order but also calls into question the loyalty of traditional allies.

Kristersson also pointed out that Denmark has been a loyal partner to the US for many years and that Washington should thank it rather than intimidate it.

The sharp reaction came after Trump's statements that the United States "needs to own Greenland" to prevent Russia or China from gaining control over it in the future.

However, the Nordic countries reject such concerns and warn against escalating tensions in the region.
