Trump warns Cuba: Without an agreement with the US, you won't get a drop of oil
US President Donald Trump has issued a warning to Cuba: if it does not sign an agreement with the United States, it will lose oil supplies and financial aid from Venezuela.
Cuba has relied on Venezuelan support for many years, but after Nicolas Maduro was arrested by US forces, Trump pushed for oil to be redirected to the United States.
On his Truth Social platform, he threatened that this would mean "zero oil, zero money" for Cuba.
According to the CIA, the situation on the island is serious – the economy is hampered by power outages, sanctions and weak tourism. The loss of Venezuelan oil, which covers half of the demand, could further threaten the Cuban government.
Trump suggests that Havana is approaching a tipping point, although intelligence services do not support his prediction of a "regime collapse."
