The White House has released the names of the members of the Peace Council proposed by US President Donald Trump as part of his plan to administer the Gaza Strip after the conclusion of a fragile ceasefire.
The council will be led by Trump himself and its members include US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Trump's envoy Steve Witkoff, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, and Jared Kushner.
This group will temporarily oversee the administration of Gaza until a more permanent political solution is found.
Trump's plan was unveiled late last year and has elicited mixed reactions, mainly due to its clear American dominance. However, the involvement of well-known figures such as Blair and Kushner suggests an ambition to give the initiative international legitimacy.
