Rutte spoke with Trump about Greenland; they will meet in Davos

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said he had spoken with US President Donald Trump about the situation in Greenland and the Arctic.

"We will continue to work on this, and I look forward to meeting with him in Davos at the end of this week," Rutte wrote on Twitter.

On Saturday, Trump announced that tariffs on eight European countries would come into effect on February 1. He plans to increase them to 25 percent in June if he is not given the opportunity to buy Greenland, which is an autonomous territory under the administration of the Kingdom of Denmark.
