Klitschko: After Russian attack, 1,700 buildings in Kyiv still without heat
The Russian missile and drone attack on Kyiv has left approximately 1,700 apartment buildings in the Ukrainian capital without heating.
Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that since Saturday evening, heat supplies have been restored to 1,600 buildings, but outages persist, mainly due to severe damage to the energy infrastructure.
According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, Russia has struck Ukraine with more than 1,700 drones, 69 missiles, and 1,380 bombs this week. The attacks come at a time of severe winter weather and negotiations between Ukrainian, Russian, and American officials in Abu Dhabi on a possible end to the war.
Zelensky warned of the consequences of Russian attacks and stressed the need for international unity in protecting Ukraine.
Moscow is targeting the destruction of the energy system, with outages affecting up to 1.2 million properties across the country.
