Voltage drop from Ukraine shuts down Moldovan energy sector

Technical problems in the Ukrainian power grid caused an emergency shutdown of Moldova's power system on Saturday.

This was reported by the Moldovan Ministry of Energy, according to which there was a significant drop in voltage on one of the power lines. The incident required immediate intervention by grid operators to prevent more serious damage to the system.

The outage affected several areas of the country, but authorities emphasize that it was not a complete collapse of electricity supplies.

In some municipalities, power was restored shortly after the incident. The ministry has not yet indicated how long it will take to fully stabilize the grid or whether further restrictions are likely.
