An employee of the Polish ministry is suspected of Russian espionage

Shortly after 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Polish military counterintelligence detained a long-time employee of the Polish Ministry of National Defense who is suspected of collaborating with Russian intelligence. The information was reported by the Onet portal.

According to the website's sources, the authorities are currently carrying out the necessary procedural steps and the investigation is ongoing. The ministry itself confirmed that its employee had been detained and charged with collaborating with a foreign intelligence service.

The man was detained directly in the ministry building shortly after arriving at work. He was a mid-level employee in the strategy and planning department who had worked at the ministry for many years. According to available information, there was no indication that he expected to be arrested.
