Epstein could have been part of a Russian KGB operation, Tusk said

According to the PAP agency, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced on Tuesday that an analytical team would be set up in connection with the scandal surrounding the late American financier Jeffrey Epstein, and he did not rule out the possibility of an investigation. According to him, the government has a duty to investigate possible "Polish traces" in the whole case and to respond if there is suspicion of abuse of Polish children.

Before the government meeting, the prime minister said that the decision was made after consultation with the Minister of Justice, the Prosecutor General, and the Minister responsible for coordinating the special services. The analytical team will review the available materials and assess whether there are grounds for an official investigation.

The head of the Polish government did not fail to mention that if the abuse of Polish children by a pedophile network is confirmed, the state will do everything in its power to bring those responsible to justice and ensure that the victims obtain justice.

At the same time, he announced that he would ask the prosecutor's office and intelligence services to conduct a quick and thorough analysis of all available documents. Tusk did not rule out contacting the US authorities with a request to disclose the unpublished parts of the files.

"More and more commentators and experts believe that it is very likely that this was an operation by the Russian secret service, the KGB—a so-called 'honey trap', a sweet trap set for the elites of the Western world, especially the United States," he said.

He will also appeal to other countries and encourage them to pursue an international investigation.
