Alarm at a school in Russia, ninth grader with an airsoft gun terrifies Ufa
In the Russian city of Ufa, a ninth-grader caused widespread alarm at a local school when he entered the building with a semi-automatic airsoft replica weapon during class. According to Russian media, he fired several shots at teachers and three classmates and also set off a firecracker on the school premises.
As reported by the TASS agency, the incident immediately caused panic, which was captured in videos circulating on social media, showing students running out of classrooms and hiding from the young man with a gun in his hand.
Police patrols and members of the Rosgvardia National Guard were called to the scene and detained the student. According to the authorities, the school's emergency alarm system worked without any problems.
The regional leadership of Bashkortostan and local authorities confirmed that no one was injured in the incident. The Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic and the Mayor of Ufa intervened at the scene.
