Zelensky rejected reports of elections and a referendum being announced

On Wednesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky denied a report in the Financial Times that he planned to announce presidential elections and a referendum on a peace agreement with Russia on February 24.

In communication with journalists via WhatsApp, he emphasized that such a decision would be out of the question without a ceasefire in Ukraine.

At the same time, he indicated that the path to peace lies in coordinated action by Europe and the United States, which should negotiate with Moscow jointly.
