The German parliament had the right to deny entry to an AfD employee

The Higher Administrative Court of Berlin-Brandenburg has upheld a decision denying an AfD MP's staff member access to the Bundestag, according to the Bild newspaper.

The parliamentary administration refused to issue him one due to doubts about his reliability, and the court ruled that this was justified. The key reason was his contacts with Russian state structures and individuals linked to the Russian authorities.

According to the court, the man maintained close ties with a Russian citizen who collaborated with members of the Russian secret services. There were concerns that the purpose of these contacts could be to gain access to the Bundestag and influence political processes. The employee will therefore not have access to non-public areas of parliament.

The AfD states that since the 2025 elections, seven of its associates have been denied passes. The court's decision is final and cannot be appealed.
