The US carried out ten attacks against Islamic State targets in Syria
The US military announced that between February 3 and 12, it carried out ten air strikes against more than 30 targets of the Islamic State (IS) terrorist organization in Syria. This was reported by the US Armed Forces Command for the Middle East (CENTCOM).
According to the statement, the attacks targeted IS infrastructure and weapons depots. The strikes were carried out with precision-guided munitions, involving aircraft, helicopters, and unmanned aerial vehicles. The aim of the strikes was to weaken the group's ability to plan and carry out further attacks in the region.
The United States has long declared that it will continue operations against the remnants of IS in Syria and Iraq to prevent the organization from regaining strength. Although Islamic State has lost most of the territory it once controlled in recent years, US officials say it continues to pose a security threat.
