Epstein Files also hit Dubai: Head of port giant resigns

Documents from the US Department of Justice suggest that Jeffrey Epstein systematically sought to build a network of influential contacts in the Middle East.

The most visible consequence of their publication so far has been the departure of Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, head of Dubai port giant DP World, whose name appeared in correspondence with Epstein. According to sources, he faced growing pressure from investors, with some financial institutions temporarily suspending new investments.

The emails show that Epstein also communicated with Qatari officials during the regional blockade and sought to advise on relations with the US and Israel. He also discussed Saudi Aramco's planned IPO and even proposed alternative financing solutions involving China.

Reuters points out that the mere mention of a name in the documents does not imply criminal activity. However, the extent of Epstein's actual influence in the region remains unclear.
