Police search residences of King Charles III’s brother

British police searched the residences of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the younger brother of King Charles III, following his arrest on Thursday on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

Investigators are examining allegations that, in his role as a special trade envoy, he passed confidential government documents to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender.

Although the former prince was released without charge after more than ten hours in custody, the case has created an unprecedented situation in the modern history of the monarchy.

The King responded by stating that the law must apply to everyone without exception.

Police confirmed that the search in Sandringham had concluded, while the operation in Windsor is ongoing. An arrest does not in itself imply guilt, but misconduct in public office can carry a potential life sentence if proven.
