Czech cities display Russian attack drones

Models of Russian Shahed drones, which Moscow uses in attacks on Ukraine, have appeared in 17 Czech cities.

According to the Novinky portal, the initiative Darček pre Putina – A Gift for Putin – unveiled the displays on the fourth anniversary of the Russian invasion in order to bring the reality of the war closer to the Czech public. The organisers say they want to show how Russia targets civilians and to remind people that the conflict is not as distant as it may appear.

The models are on display in Prague, Brno, Hradec Králové and České Budějovice, among other locations. The town hall in Opava did not support the event, but the organisers secured an alternative site near a church.

The life-size replicas are accompanied by information panels and photomontages illustrating the potential damage caused by such attacks. According to the organisers, drones strike Ukrainian cities on a daily basis and can have a range of up to 1,000 kilometres.

The exhibitions are guarded by security personnel and accompanied by events expressing support for Ukraine.
