Zelenskyy expects peace talks at the leadership level
Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone call with Donald Trump and his envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. "Our teams are working intensively, and I thanked them for all their work and for their active participation in the negotiations and efforts to end the war," he wrote on social media.
The Ukrainian president also praised the PURL (Priority Requirements List for Ukraine) initiative, which was created by the United States and its allies last year.
According to Zelenskyy, during the phone call, they discussed issues that representatives of the countries will debate during Thursday's bilateral meeting in Geneva, as well as preparations for another trilateral meeting in early March.
"We expect this meeting to create an opportunity to move the negotiations to the leadership level. President Trump supports this approach. It is the only way to resolve all the complex and sensitive issues and finally end the war," said the Ukrainian leader.
